From what I understand, with that app, you link your account to your vaccination record and when you go to enter an event, the app displays your photo and an QR code that can be scanned at entry. The code is only valid for a limited time and will display your photo to the person doing the screening at the venue. Those measures are to prevent someone doing a screen grab of their own QR code and sharing it with their unvaccinated friends.
I believe the Clear app is only available in the US right now, but I'd expect something similar will be available in Canada -- either from Clear or the provincial/federal governments by mid-September. The federal government did announce they were working on something that could be used for travel purposes in the fall. Hopefully that will be able to be used wider. |
Clear Me app is set up to also use Canadian ID.
