It's weird - preseason projections had the Jays around 85-87 wins and I'd say it's still pretty likely they end up there. It's just that the Red Sox and White Sox are doing so much better than expected that the playoff hopes are so much lower.
Also, the White Sox are a fraud and will get stomped come playoff time - they have played by far the easiest schedule and are way below .500 against good teams. MLB needs to figure out a more balanced schedule.

Baseball really does love it's tradition, but with 3 and 4 game series they really could do away with Divisions and go to a balanced schedule without introducing that much more travel. Not the different than the old 14 team leagues with 2 Divisions. I would almost favor that and do away with Interleague play. But that might be bias from a guy who has seen like 23 of the last 25 years where the AL East has 3 or 4 strong teams and the other Divisions seldom go more than 2 deep.
