I'm in English (finishing my PhD) but I'm not trained for K-12 teaching--so I'd need more schooling for that. Ironically, the qualifications required for University teaching are in many ways less stringent--explains why so many college level teachers are so bad.

My wife's a scientist, so her prospects are somewhat better--she's also more dedicated to an academic career than I am. If she finds work in Calgary, I figure I can do whatever. I'm not picky!
