My brother just graduated Education from UofA with Physics major Math minor and he was offered a whole slew of jobs and descent ones (grade 10-12 non 33 level). He has decided to get his Masters in Physics and minor in Math. I guess when it comes to teachers, your max salary is based on your education so the more you get the more you can get paid. Never new that before.

I'm in English (finishing my PhD) but I'm not trained for K-12 teaching--so I'd need more schooling for that. Ironically, the qualifications required for University teaching are in many ways less stringent--explains why so many college level teachers are so bad.
My wife's a scientist, so her prospects are somewhat better--she's also more dedicated to an academic career than I am. If she finds work in Calgary, I figure I can do whatever. I'm not picky!
