I disagree with your assessment. Ryan was a very good player for us, and I would've loved bringing him back at his current contract. Ryan was always responsible defensively, meanwhile generating chances on the other end of the ice. I think that he showed he can produce in a role as a 3rd line center with the Canes(granted it as 3 years back). The only thing against Ryan is his age. At some point his play will drop off a cliff, but I don't think it will happen this season.
