I think the Oilers are much better and deeper at forward this year. But I think they are also considerably worse on D, and carry a very high risk in goal. Overall I don't really think they will be any better than what they were last year, and I could easily see them taking a step backward. Here's hoping anyway!
On topic - I'm a little surprised at how quiet things are around the Eichel situation. Seems like that's a big stalemate at the moment on all sides.

“Much” better and deeper? Nah. They have added 3 forwards. Ryan makes their bottom line better. If he plays third line it’s probably a line too high. Foegele is a guy I’m not as impressed with as some here. And like I’ve said before Hyman, while a decent forward, adds nothing to their top line UNLESS he can replace Draisaitl on the top line and enable them to separate him from McDavid. A line of Hyman-McDavid-Draisaitl will score no more goals than any other forward playing with those two. And Hyman isn’t very good defensively so he doesn’t help that way.
