I like it. Was hoping for 2 X $3.75 but one year is the next best thing.

1) it is a show-me contract, which is exactly what they should be doing with Zadorov - he hasn't shown the consistency yet to justify a long term contract. If he can put it together this year, great! Sign a long term deal. If not, no worries

2) if he doesn't show enough to warrant a longer contract, he can be moved at the deadline

3) the Flames still have some cap space to make one more move this year, and every quarter mill will help. Keeping Zadorov under $4M definitely helps that situation.
