So true. I don't care where anybody is from. You need to live outside of your home town, your home province, even your home country to truly get an appreciation for your home town.
I'm not a lifelong Calgarian. I was the 5th generation born here. And, ha ha, my mother was from Saskatchewan. I may not have lived in the city my whole life. But my roots and history run deep in this city. Not many Calgarians, or even life long Calgarians can go to Union Cemetary and visit the graves of their Great Great Grandfather, their Great Grandfather, and their Grandfather.
