I am so glad there are so many doctors on this forum. Honestly means I need to find a new profession because I will be out of a job soon. LOL
Thankfully there is enough humanity in me to still empathize with the covid denying patient who ultimately dies in his 60s in ICU as well as the idiotic son with MS who is still "debating" about vaccination.
Also, there are previously healthy young patients in their 20s and 30s that are struggling to get back to their previous level of fitness and activity post-COVID months after their infection - to the point of needing me to fill out disability forms because they are unable to work (no history of absenteeism or issues prior to the infection). So giving me mortality rates mean nothing - morbidity rates would be more useful.
This forum just proves how tiring people are. Live a day in the shoes of health professionals honestly and understand that we are getting fatigued. I know it is literally impossible to change the mind of people who feel they have things figured out. Although I do find it hilarious that people who distrust evidence based medicine and doctors end up trusting idiots who usually have no medical background. Seriously, I am not going to a plumber to fix my car.
Again, no point arguing with people who have their mind set - as I have seen, there are literally people dying of COVID who refuse to believe that COVID is killing them. I try to convince people on the fence to vaccinate but if they give me the tone of a few of these posters here, I don't even bother.
Going off topic I know, but I figure it would help if someone who has actually dealt with patients who have gotten sick can give an opinion.
