Well they won't have significant cap space going into the season once they sign Zadorov, Dube, Mackey, Gawdin and Valimaki anyway. That is a known unless you consider roughly $4M considerable, which it isn't these days.
Even at that rate, I'm not sure it's a forgone conclusion that the Flames would even be over the cap after a big move considering a significant, signed asset would have to be going back in any deal.
