Yeah. I’m assuming either Monahan or backlund would have to be included in the eichel trade (likely Monahan) since that’s needed to make the salary work for this season. Unless eichel is not ready to play until playoffs… in which case, the flames can possibly pull a kucherov and get to keep Monahan/backlund as well for this season. Then next offseason, the flames will have to find a way to clear cap space. Problem would be that the eichel trade would require even more picks/prospects if Monahan/backlund are not included in the package.
