1) Carry cap space through the year

If you're acquiring Eichel, the same options apply unless you're creating cap space in the deal or including one of those guys.

I think if eichel is acquired while keeping tkachuk, the flames try this season with a loaded roster that includes eichel, Gaudreau, tkachuk, Lindholm, mangiapane… then possibly trade tkachuk (if he truly wants to leave) to recoup some assets from the eichel trade while saving some cap space to re-sign mangiapane and make room for gaudreau’s raise that would kick in starting in 2022.
