Given a flat cap for another few more years, there are only a few possible outcomes:
1) Carry cap space through the year
2) Sign some more one year deals. By definition those are going to be bottom roster players IMO
3) Trade a major roster player before now and next season
4) Let Gaudreau walk at end of year
If you're acquiring Eichel, the same options apply unless you're creating cap space in the deal or including one of those guys.
