How much will the Blues be willing to give up to get Matt two years early if they know full well he's theirs in the summer of 2023? My guess is not very much.
If.....IF....Matt intends on going to the Blues when he hits free agency, the Flames are pretty much screwed given the inside track the Blues most surely have through Keith.

^^This is why I think they should put MT on the market. There are teams that may be willing to take that risk and there may be other teams that MT wants to play for. Take Pittsburgh for example, who wouldn't want to play for Sid Crosby. You don't know what the offers are if you don't put him out there. Flames shouldn't operate like St louis has them over a barrel. My guess is that some teams would be willing to take that risk and can offer more. If anything your forcing St Louis to up their offer.
