Totally stole this from an NHL Youtuber, but if Buffalo trades Eichel, they will likely need to take on at least $10 million in cap space just to reach the cap floor this season. This taken into consideration re-signing their current RFAs (Dahlin, Mittlestadt, and Jokiharju) at their projected market value and that they don't make any big UFA signings (which seems unlikely).

Basically, they need to take on decent sized contracts, so even if Tkachuk was the main piece going back, we would probably need to add at least another $3 million to the deal.
