Thinking about Joe Thornton gives me an existential crisis.
When he was a rookie, he played on the same team as Ray Bourque. When Ray Bourque was a rookie, he played on the same team as Jean Ratelle who was on the same team as Gump Worsley (who played against Rocket Richard).
I know I am cherry picking players that had freakishly long careers, but it seems crazy that there is still a player in the league that has only a 3 degrees of separation from the "Original Six" and players who would be centenarians if they were still alive today.
