Should have also been in the Wimbledon Final but he blew a 5-1 fifth set lead to Malivai Washington in the semis and lost 10-8, and would have had a good shot to beat Krajicek in the final. Martin had a very solid career, mostly overshadowed by Pete, Andre, Courier and Chang. Good serve, money backhand, good forehand, good volleys, nice old school player to watch.

He was the Stan of his time, except he just never put it together a couple times like Stan did. I think that 5-1 choke was the first time I ever saw someone lose from 5-1 up in the decider. MaliVai still with maybe the all-time out of nowhere run that year.
