He has shown nice progression to date - more than I expected, personally - but I don't think he has shown as much upside potential as the people that have been voted ahead of him (maybe Mackey notwithstanding, but Mackey might well be on the roster this year, and defensemen are evaluated differently).

I guess the argument I'll make is that the Flames relative to the league have a weaker prospect pool (bottom half) and so nobody outside of our Top 5 will have indications of a budding star. In this 6-15 range, I'd guess only 2 or 3 of these guys will go on to become regular NHLers. If you're looking at these rankings through that lens (and I understand many will disagree with me), Ruzicka should be in the top of this range.
