It’s spending the right assets on the right pieces.
Spending first and 2 2nds on Hamilton = good
Spending first and 2 2nds on hamonic = bad
He gave up the same assets in both deals but the Hamilton deal was good value. The Hamonic deal was terrible. In the latter deal, would much rather be use those assets to bring in young, cost controlled player(s) instead of a player that was ufa after 3 years.
The JT Miller trade would be good to replicate if there is a deal like that out there. First and a third for a top 6 F trumps first and 2 2nds for a top 4 D.
