So which is it, doesn’t have the assets to pull off a big trade or won’t spend the assets. How can he spend the assets if he doesn’t have any? He will get it down but complicated with other teams needing to be involved. Do i think we get the big fish, notta but believe he will strengthen too 6 and add too 4 D whatever that looks like.

I think the bigger issue is that the team lacks desirable assets to pull off these big trades. It takes two teams to make a trade. We get outbid consistently not because Treliving is afraid to make moves but because we never have the best assets to make the trades.

I think Treliving deserves criticism, just not the criticism given here. It’s not that he doesn’t work hard, it’s that he spends assets on bozos like Brandon Bollig and Tyler Pitlick. Then when the time comes to make a big deal he can’t justify the asking price, or he simply lacks the currency to get it done. If you were another team would you really be interested in anything Calgary has had to offer recently?

Fortunately regarding Eichel I think the cupboards have been restocked these last two drafts and I think they can make a big move without completely decimating the farm. But even still the Buffalo Sabres still have to agree to the deal.

His work ethic isn’t an issue. His issue is that he’s never had the currency to make the big deals.
