Pranks all depend on the circumstances. Some work environments are very open to pranks. It is very dependent on the type of people you work with. If you work in a very strict and professional office chances are that a prank like this could result in a dismissal. If you work in a more relaxed environment then pranks on this level can accepted. People have to use their discretion. I'm sure the women hemming his pants knew that he wouldn't blow up when told about the prank. For example I had a friend that got all his underwear put into a plastic bag which was filled with water and was put in the freezer. When he found his frozen ball of underwear the next day he said, "Ha, I am not even mad, that was pretty good." Not everyone is as good natured I guess.
