Things that MUST be done before training camp opens:
1). Contract for Gaudreau. This cannot stretch out into training camp or the season. If this does, Treliving needs to be relieved of his duties immediately. This guy allows way too many distractions to exist around this team. Get your players focused on only winning games.
2). Have resolution to the Tkachuk issue. Again, eliminate distractions.
3). Find another quality defenseman that can play in the top four if pressed. Not happy with what we have left.
4). Find one more forward with some finishing ability. Don’t care about position, although a RW would be great, but find another guy that can put the puck in the net. If you can push Coleman into a third line role, you have a damn good team.
5). Get the team focused! The only thing they need to be concerned about is playing hockey, winning games, and getting out of the gate quickly. PERIOD.
Those are must haves before camps open. Without those things happening I see us spinning our wheels again.
