Nothing misogynistic about pointing out the fact that many women are more inclined to opt for a stable option and (in these younger generations) be enticed by celebrity status. Things like that are just highly valued in today's society. It's just the way it is.
If you're attractive and can easily have your pick of the lot, why wouldn't you opt for the very best option you can have, as far as social status? That actually seems more smart than shallow. The truth of that may hurt feelings, but in their place you would probably do the same.
Thats not to say that it precludes other qualities, but that status absolutely pre-qualifies you to have an opportunity to date her. If you consider the prospect of having a family etc, then someone with the type of career of a pro athlete will facilitate that stability and freedom.
I don't think that truth is something that needs to be danced around just to appease a certain crowd that has a hard time accepting that their are certain truths in today's society that don't necessary look great from afar.

Word. I don't get why people throw labels out then paint themselves as sanctimonious but it happens. The possibility of a different point of view just goes by the wayside. But hey, the punchline sounds good, so let's ignore what the original statement was, or what the person meant.
