This is my position as well. But he is a broken player, with an injury requiring a risky procedure. That is very concerning.
If this was Sean Monahan, requiring this surgery, people would be demanding he was on waivers today. It is bizarre to see people bend themselves into pretzels to accommodate this player. Ahh, but highlight videos! I wish they did lowlight reals to balance these things and let people see the player you are getting most of the time. Yes, he's a talented player, but there is so much more to this guy that a highlight reel. Go into this with eyes wide open, not your head buried in a youtube video.
