Kids love Calaway, adults enjoy it the first few times then it gets a little old until the kids are big enough to go on the real fun stuff together. That said, back in the day I'd spend whole days there with the friends hanging out and being goofs and seeing how many times we could do the same ride in one day. It never occurred to us then (or now) to compare to Wonderland or even Edmonton's West Ed... because it wasn't relevant and really still isn't. It's local, it's fun, it's "reliable", it's accessible, it's cheaper than babysitting (assuming a season pass, or the mega-discount day pass), it's relatively safe to drop teenagers off there for a day, and it's made a lot of great memories.
Could Calaway be better? oh heck yeah... it's pretty long in the tooth, needs some mega upgrades/replacements, but even without it's still not bad and IMO a whole lot better than the Stampede.
