Love Monahan more than most, but if Eichel is incoming he has to go. Backlund is the vastly superior shut down centre. Having Monahan as anything but a consistent top 6 centre is a waste of his talents for him and the team. If the Eichel ask is Tkachuk or Lindholm, that changes things. Then maybe convert Monahan to the wing.
