Calaway Park is drive-to destination. If you buy the annual pass and pack your own snacks it can be very, very cheap per visit. If I lived in Toronto I wouldn't fly here to go to Calaway, just like I wouldn't fly to Toronto to go to Wonderland. They aren't competitors at all.

This is the weirdest reasoning/defence of something. You’re saying two things can’t be compared because they’re in different cities and it would cost you money to go fly to another city? Literally insane.
The argument isn’t that they’re competing for dollars, it’s that they’re similar attractions (in this case in price, and not so much in quality).
Calaway is also the hillbilly hole by the highway, so I reject any defence of it at all, but this one is… bizarro… you might say.
