Personally, I think this might make the most sense. Johnny is not a Sutter type and it would significantly lower the balance of the package needed.
Johnny and a prospect or two for Eichel is easier to pallet than giving up 1st in what is going to be a draft to remember.

No I don’t think so. Johnny is up for a contract in a year, and just a wild guess, but I don’t think he’d be willing to resign in Buffalo. He also just submitted his 5 team no trade list, and I’m almost positive Buffalo would be on it.
The reason Eichel is so enticing, is the thought of Gaudreau finally having a player of that caliber center him on a line.
And I believe the Sutter type player thing is being overblown by some. You can’t have a team full of Pitlick’s and Lewis’. You still need high end skill and talent on any team
