yeah...value engineering at its finest... the Interiors of that building are actually pretty good...but the outside got gutted.
the big concern are renderings are often the best a project will look...if, like the central library, you get a finished project that is actually pretty darn close to the results, you had everyone (client, architect, contractor) on board...
when you start with 'meh' images (just going off the one tweeted, so theoretically vetted), its hard to image it turning out 'better' than the renders...
Great renders should be easy - no budget, no gravity, no environmental concerns, no contractors...tough to scale a project upwards as opposed to making smart cuts...
