If LA is out by virtue of their lack of cap space, how is Vegas considered in it? I get that they could move money back, but they added Dadonov, Martinez, Brossoit and Janmark at about 15 mil today and are sitting 1.5 mil over the cap.

Nevermind that they've basically traded all the high end picks they acquired in year 1 away to load their current roster with older guys, are starting to look very lean in the prospect dpt and everyone expects their future firsts to be in the late 20s. I am starting to get the sense that when this group ages in 4 or 5 years they are going to go totally bottom of the barrell like San Jose has.

I get that they might be interested in Eichel, but seems like a terrible fit to me as far as executing a trade/assets. Nolan Patrick and Clague are the only two guys under 25 who are good NHL regulars or close to it. Maybe I am just wishing! Calgary has way more good young players and desirable picks (if only we had the kind of star vets but thats another topic)
