Ya this and the fact that it's basically a week too early to make the call is the reason why this number seems suspect to me.

"only 71 people got infected with COVID [while on the stampede grounds]" is not quite the same as the "only new 71 people got infected at stampede" talking point they are putting out there. I thought one of the main attractions of Stampede was that it is a city-wide event? Seems like their definition of "at stampede" is just a little bit narrow.

Sadly I think that ship has sailed. Robson Fletcher (CBC) was saying on Twitter last night that AHS has always been very good about answering questions about the stats and numbers, or getting back to reporters when they don't have the information on hand - but in this case they've basically ignored any questions they don't like.
