Personal thought on this is the term is irritably long. Coleman showed he was great this past season with his hard work and sometimes skill. But he’s shown it one season plainly put. $100 to anyone who truly knew the guy prior to this year. So it is a gamble. Any time anyone seems to give a long term contract to a player who showed flashes of excellence, it tends to not work out well. I can’t say if it’s that the guy they signed feels they achieved what they set out to do, or there’s more pressure on them to live up to the contract, but it’s a big risk taken on. The dollar value is fine for a player of his ilk right now. Treliving is on the hot seat so I can see why he had to do this. I am concerned because of the term with the dollar value. There is a recency bias here. Hope it works out in our favour.
