It's horrible logic. Aging has more to do with the results of the metabolic process than it does with how many of your hockey games were in the NHL. Marleau was one of the most graceful agers in league history and simultanrously played some of the highest game counts in history. Minor league games, weight lifting in the offseason, etc etc also still contribute to wear and tear.
