To be fair, this does seem like a replay of the Brouwer and Neal contracts. So there's lots to be wary about here.
I'm looking for positives, but I totally understand why some posters are worried. Mostly, I look at his stats in NJ and see that Coleman managed back to back 20 goal seasons there. So he's not just a product of a winning team. Also, our bottom 9 looked anemic on many nights. Coleman looks consistent and full of energy.
Coleman is also a warrior. Despite not being the biggest guy, he's fought legit heavyweights like Wilson and Gudas.
Really glad that we didn't pay the rumoured $6 million, but also have a lot of reservations.
We'll see what happens with the major moves that need to be done. Gaudreau extension, Monahan trade, Eichel (I can still dream), etc...
And yes, these are the kinds of moves Stanley Cup winning teams make. St. Louis signed Bozak for $5 million before they won a cup. Well....they also sign Patrick Maroon, but he's not available.
