But let's consider Calgary specifically
- One of the smaller NHL cities
- Probably considered to have less culture overall and less 'things to do'
- One of the worst climates to live in amongst Canadian cities
- One of the worst performing franchises over the last 3 decades including recent years.
- Oldest building in the league.
So what's the selling point? That's a bad combo of factors. Calgary simply ranks amongst the lowest teams in terms of where guys want to go. And as much as we hate it - Edmonton at least has the McDavid selling point
