Keeping Gaudreau and Tkachuk and moving Mangiapane in an Eichel deal seems like the best outcome to me. That will create 1 elite line, and one legitimate #1 line with Lindholm as the centre. Then you have Backlund as the shut-down centre, and depending on how it shakes out, a big body like Ruzicka learning to play centre on the 4th line between the Ritchie brothers... I like it.
I love Mangiapane, but he is going to see a big contract increase after this season. There is that to consider as well. Definitely depends on if and for what Tkachuk is willing to extend for as well.
Mangiapane should very much be an option as a trade chip in acquiring Eichel. There shouldn't be any untouchables, IMO, but rather how rich the overall package end up as is what matters to me, and how many legitimate scoring lines can the Flames create after everything is said and done.
