How does XBOX Live work? I've got a Shaw Internet at home... is that all I need to hook it up? The package I got everything in says "Bonus: Free Three Months of XBOX Live" which I'm guessing means it's subscription based...
Does it simply put you into an online playing pool with random oponents, or can you choose to play against a specific person in another city?
Also: Has anyone tried Lord of the Rings: The Third Age? Looking around the net today I found it and it looks kind of cool. It's a separate RPG story (mostly unrelated to the movies/books) but in the same world and time. Link here...
P.S. Thanks for all the game ideas. There's quite the collection of awesome looking games I'd never heard of before. I swear I've been out of touch on anything to do with gaming since my University days!

Here's a good link, it should have all you need to know about Live:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/Live/about/default.htm
All you need is a cable or DSL connection (that you have), LAN cable, and a credit card. It's pretty easy to set up... If you plug in to your internet connection, you can set it all up from inside your XBox console. I'm just unsure on how the '3 free months' thing works, but it'll probably have some info in that link above.
