No, the reason we moved on from tanev because there were questions about his ability to stay healthy if we signed him to a long term deal.
Most Canuck fans were upset because he was a perfect fit with Quinn.
Schmidt on paper was suppose to be better than tanev, but it didn't work out.
Edler on the other hand is way past his expiration date. Think about it this way, the Canucks desperately want to upgrade the defence and were letting a Canuck lifer sitting on 99 goals walk.
He's a lot slower, his shot is gone, injuries, those should be red flags for any team looking to sign him.
