Except Kapanen is a one year contract and then an RFA with arb rights and teams seem to hate do deal with those. Treliving has a bit of history of obtaining pending RFAs.
When the Pens acquired him he had two pretty cheap years left. That said, I’ve not heard they are interested in moving him.
I suppose they could look at Jeff Carter. It’s too bad they have no LHD of interest.
