It's entirely unknown territory for an NHL player.
That HAS to be part of the consideration here along with acquisition cost.

Alternatively you could not trade for him, draft players that could themselves suffer injuries.
My point was that if Flames are going with a win know attitude they might as well go for it. And Eichel as arguably the BPA this summer would be going for it.
(I prefer rebuild but I don’t see that happening)
