If its at work you can also cut out a small piece of paper and wrap it around the end of the network cable then plug it back in the wall. Everything will look normal but everytime he tries to access something on the network it will sit there forever before timing out. Someone that doesn't know much about computers will wonder why his computer is so slow all of a sudden.
