Spoiler!
I guess the biggest hint for me should have been in the name. It's not "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe", it's just "Masters of the Universe". This is pretty bait & switch, IMO. He-Man's in the first episode. Then he's dead. Then it's "Secondary Characters of the Universe"
I wasn't allowed to watch He-Man as a kid. That didn't STOP me, but I wasn't allowed. So I was pretty excited about being able to watch this one. I wanted to see what He-Man, Skeletor and especially Battle Cat were up to now. Nope. He-Man and Skeletor are killed off towards the end of the first episode, and we never see Battle Cat again.
I enjoyed seeing Orko again, and then of course (after he's in it for an episode and a half-ish)...they kill him.
Teela is in her early 20's in the original cartoon. In this one, due to a time jump, she has to be in her mid-20's at least (24-27 is my guesstimate)...but she spends the entire series acting like a snotty selfish early-teens brat.
Then they bring He-Man back...and KILL HIM AGAIN.
After the first episode, there was really nothing terribly enjoyable about this series, and unless they pull some major turnarounds for "part 2", I doubt that I'm likely to waste my time watching those.
This feels pretty clearly that it's not "for me", a fan of the 80's series. That's ok, but it's kinda disappointing.
I will say, that the artwork on this is great stuff. Loved that.

The series is 10 episodes long and part 2 is done but I have no idea when it's being released. I'm sure it'll be soon with people being so upset about the cliffhanger.
