He played in the same league as Kent that season, but on a different team. His stats were nothing spectacular, but neither were anyone's who was getting picked in the 12th round in 1975. In fact, at that point in the draft, a lot of teams just didn't bother using their picks anymore.

Thanks, I hadn't heard about the actual Torbjorn Nilsson. Likely the real story happened the way you suggest, and got embellished in the retelling.
