I think the number in the NHL is that almost 70% of skaters are left shots. If that trend is true in the levels below the NHL I guess you can't really pick what's not there?
"handedness" is interesting though... I always wonder, since goalies are so good with their angles etc these days, if right shots have an advantage. Its relatively rare for shooters to be right shots and maybe that subtle difference of release/shot angle is more difficult from the goalies perspective. Guess I could look at the top scorers and see if a "disproportionate" amount are right vs left shots. But that would take work.
