To be fair, Tanev is actually the optimistic hope for the Canucks. Everything suggested he was going the same way OEL was - wrong side of 30, coming off a few bad years where he was hampering his partner's numbers, and trending down. Then he gets a change of scenery and turns everything around instantly and becomes a success story.
Of course, the rebuttal to that story is that OEL is going to the scenery that Tanev came from and saw his game going the wrong way, so...
