I don't disagree with taking a chance on a guy with a past if he can make a big impact and at least mostly not embarrass the organization.
Parade him in front of the cameras talking about how grateful he is for this opportunity at a second chance. The problem is that this guy isn't going to do that. If he behaves at all, the thin veneer holding it together will fade and he will make a fool of himself and the team.
So maybe you press box him, what good is that when he's all over social media slugging it out with your fans? You can take him out of the US, but he wont stop talking US politics, or Q talking points, which means as an organization you are going to need to start constantly making statements about how your organization doesn't feel the same way as him about <targeted group> and that you value all your fans that are members of that group.
Are you going to sign a guy who's last numbers aren't great, to maybe screw up your team chemistry, and definitely aggrieve your fans, and who maybe is going to be cap sitting in the press box with the added cost of full time escorts to keep him from making a fool of himself? I don't see any reason to take that risk.
