Wouldn't it have been smarter to just ride out the next year and then add to a young core with the cap space that opened?
So now you fix it for one year, but then potentially have a much bigger long term problem.
It's like the Suter buyout? Why? He's still in your top four. So you fix one year and then quietly watch the league for four more?
