Don't you think I know that? It's simply a motivational tool. That's it. But it's so stupidly simple and yet it can be so absurdly effective.
It's just like how the brain can't process "don't". If you keep thinking "don't fall" when you ski, you will instead fall. That's because the brain visualizes you falling, and can't actually figure out the part about you trying not to fall.
