Hindsight is 20/20 of course, but after seeing the players that Seattle ended up picking, it looks like if the flames exposed backlund instead of giordano, they would have picked someone like Kylington or Phillips instead. That is, if they were consistent with the kinds of selections that they did with most other teams. They rarely took any players that had contract that could turn into a bad contract in 2-3 years with the exception of maybe tanev.
Again, there was no way to know that so I still understand exposing giordano.
