I think we have to remember you don't just pick 30 NHLer's on one way deals, there are only 23 roster spots, picking an NHL player to assign to the AHL is not the right solution. I'm sure Francis has a plan and to evaluate the team based on just the draft is silly.
That being said there is a long way to go to start the season and I feel like the repeat of Vegas is not going to happen, Seattle will be a bubble team at best.
I fully believe that none of us know all the intricacies of filling out a roster, we all think it's EA Sports and you just pick whoever you want.
Picking a player to flip for a pick is great but what if you can't get any takers? Then you're stuck with a bad contract that handcuffs an expansion team, if I'm starting a team the last thing I want to do is have boat anchor contracts that cripple your ability to be flexible.
Maybe we give Seattle more than 24 hours to show us their plan?
