I guess expending draft CAPITAL (suck it PepsiFree) hurts because so many of the Flames major success stories have been late round picks, and I feel our scouts have done such a great job of unearthing these mid to late round gems that have been significant contributors to our teams success or other teams successes. Personally I would rather have a guy like Mangiapane or Brodie than a Pitlick. I just like seeing guys grow and develop within a teams system. The more darts you have the more chances you have of hitting a bullseye.
Mangiapane, Anderson, Brodie, Gaudreau, Paul Byron (sorry he was a Bufflo pick), Michael Ferland etc.
